The bachelor of applied science education program is prioritized to produce graduates who have technical and managerial skills in carrying out a telecommunications system job. Technical capabilities include: wireless telecommunications systems, basic theory of electromagnetic waves, radio telecommunications, microwaves, terrestrial networks, broadband networks, satellite telecommunications, and mobile communications.

To meet the needs of society and industry, the Department of Electrical Engineering, State Polytechnic of Malang opened a Diploma IV Study Program in Digital Telecommunications Network Engineering (JTD) based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education number 4679/D/T/2009. Currently the accreditation of the Digital Telecommunication Network Engineering Study Program is based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education number 799/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/Dpl-IV/VIII/2015 valid until 07-08-2020.
