Today, there are very few people who can take care of the body, not only after someone dies, but since that person is sick, near death, when death comes, prepares it after that, until after burying it, everything has been exemplified and taught by the Prophet about it in detail, completely perfect.

Alternative solutions to the problem are carried out by holding training on holding the bodies so that it is hoped that the community in RW XI, Kelurahan Tulusrejo, Lowokwaru District, Malang City will have knowledge and skills in how to bathe the bodies, know the tools and materials for burial, pray for the bodies.

In connection with the problems mentioned above and the lack of public knowledge about the management of corpses, including:

  • Describes the attitude of a believer if another Muslim has recently died.
  • Know the ways of bathing the corpse.
  • Knowing the tools and materials in shrouding the corpse and how to shroud the corpse.
  • Know how to pray for the dead.
  • Know how to bury a dead body.

After knowing the procedures for organizing the funeral, it is hoped that members of the RW XI Tulusrejo Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City will be able to make guidelines in daily life that are able to make it easier for relatives if the family has a family member who has just died who can be taken care of by members of the community at the area.

This service activity has relevance to the needs of funeral organizers in the field. Based on the results of the survey prior to implementation, there are still not enough people who are able to carry out funeral arrangements in the village. So that with this training it is hoped that the surrounding community can carry out the management of the funeral properly and in accordance with religious guidance.

Increased knowledge and understanding of the community in the management of corpses.
Increasing community skills in organizing funerals so that it is possible for people to practice organizing funerals themselves in the environment where they live.

The following is a Handbook of Practical Guidance on the Procedure for Handling Bodies which can be used as a guidebook.

The Chairperson of RW XI, Mr. Ir H Hery Purnomo, MT, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for holding this activity which had never been carried out before, especially to the Management of the RW XI Concord Death Association.

The results of making a questionnaire about the responses to this community service activity to the participants who were present and took part in this activity, and the following results were obtained:

Well acceptable explanation = 16/20 = 85%

Unacceptable explanation = 3/20 = 15%

These results were obtained from filling out questionnaires from 20 participants who were present during this PKM activity.

Hopefully this PKM activity can add insight into the management of Muslim corpses which are the obligations, namely Bathing, Shrouding, Praying. Bury it according to the Sunnah and the guidance of Rasulullah SAW.
The implementation of the PKM (Community Service) Program was carried out in RW XI, Tulusrejo Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City. This PKM activity was chaired by M. Nanak Zakaria, ST, MT and members were Kristina Widjajanti, Dr, S.Si, M.Pd, Hadiwiyatno, ST, MT, Ahmad Wilda Yulianto, ST, MT, Dianthy Marya, ST, MT. Implementation of activities on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Sabilissalam Mosque RW XI Kel, Tulusrejo Malang City.
